New Local Rules for Staked Trees and Turf Repairs
We have two additions to local rules which players need to be aware of.
Volunteer Night - Thursday 26th May 2022
We are hosting a Volunteer Night next Thursday evening at 6pm, with the task of reseeding divots on tees, also known as "divotting". What this will involve is using a bucket and hand scoop to spread a rootzone and seed mix on the tees. We will also be tidying up bunkers and repairing pitchmarks.
Greens and course coming on nicely despite the dry spell
Rewind one year to April 2021 and it’s fair to say that our greens weren’t the best they’d ever been - in fact I’d go as far to say that they weren’t good at all, but right now in April 2022 we have seen massive progress in them - and golfers are noticing.
Newly planted tree areas at Burstwick
This week we have had a crew from the Green Task Force planting over 2000 trees on the course to fill out some bare areas, add some different colours and also help the environment by reducing CO2 emmissions.
Greens recovering well after Spring maintenance
After spending the last two weeks working on the greens we’re very pleased to say that they have been recovering nicely and are already performing above expectations.
Greens Maintenance commencing next week
Next week we will be starting the Spring greens maintenance which will last two weeks. We will be starting with 10mm scarifying using our Sisis TM1000 tractor mounted scarifier, which we bought last year.
